I did this tour yesterday. Our main guide in the bus, who spoke English and Spanish fluently, was excellent. Overall, this was a good experience. However, you spend most of your day in the bus. We left Rome at 7:30 in the morning and returned at around 7:30-8:00 in the evening. There was a 30-minute break/stop for breakfast about an hour after we left Rome, a one-hour break/stop for lunch right before we arrived at Pompeii, and a 20-minute break/stop on the way back to Rome. Then, there was a 15-minute stop at a jewelry store right outside of Pompeii, which I did not appreciate as I do not believe it was mentioned in the description. I believe we spent about 1.45 to 2 hours with the second guide (for the English speakers) in Pompeii and then had about 25-30 minutes of free time to spend in Pompeii. I wish we could spend more time in Pompeii. There was also the option of not paying for a guided tour or lunch, which would give you about 3.5 hours to spend on your own in Pompeii.

We enjoyed our tour to Pompeii. Pompeii is definitely worth the long drive. So interesting. The tour itself was well run, we didn't do the option with the meal, so we had 4 hours to spend in Pompeii on our own. Which was enough time to see many highlights. Bus Tour of Naples was ok, not necessary for us but others may enjoy. Half way stop for toilet and meal, just wish was at a normal autostrade and not the expensive hotel restaurant they stop at- our only critique. We had a lovely day.

We chose this trip because we didn’t want to navigate trains from Rome to Pompeii. We are really glad we did! It was worth the extra money for the convenience alone. The trip was great. The meeting point was very accessible and the staff were punctual and friendly. Very comfortable transport and our guides (Gavino and Sasha) on the bus were terrific. It was good to see Naples and the harbour before we went to Pompeii. We looked over the ruins of Pompeii on our own and thoroughly enjoyed doing so. There’s so much to see! Can thoroughly recommend this day trip!
