Know before you go

  • Please note:
  •  All visitors must pass through airport-style security. During high season the wait at security may be up to 30 minutes.
  • The first portion of the itinerary is quite fast-paced. For this reason, it is not suitable for those with walking difficulties.
  • The Vatican Museums and St. Peter’s Basilica require that all visitors have their knees and shoulders covered.
  • Bags measuring more than 40x35x15 centimeters as well as tripods, large umbrellas, and objects that could be harmful to other visitors or damage works of art in the Museums, are not allowed into the Vatican Museums and must be stored in the cloakroom. Be aware that the cloakroom is a 20-minute walk from the ending point of the tour.
  • St. Peter’s Basilica is an active parish and therefore subject to unforeseen closures for spiritual celebrations. In such cases, if possible, you will be contacted in advance with an alternative tour time or itinerary.

We had a great experience with our guide Danielle who was very updated with the facts & history of the Vatican city, Basilica and museums. Though the tour was of short duration and we could not get glimpse of everything possible, but she ensured we know the major spots, paintings, sculptures. I just wish the tour was little longer so that we could understand more about the city and the museums .

We learned a lot from our tour guide, Daniella, and enjoyed learning facts we likely wouldn’t have learned going through the Vatican on our own. Unfortunately, there was some confusion with St Peters Basilica which was closed the morning of our tour so we couldn’t go inside. Our guide did her best to explain its history and interesting details to us from St Peters square but it would’ve been better to actually see the details. We had some trouble with the headsets provided but Daniella replaced them for us once we were inside the museum. Overall, I’m glad we booked this tour but would’ve hoped for a partial refund due to missing the basilica.
