Full description

Enjoy entry to one of Rome’s most popular museums with a ticket to Borghese Gallery, located in the former Villa Borghese Pinciana. Tickets for the museum are limited and often sell out. Marvel at the collection that has been described as the “Queen of all Private Art Collections”. Witness one of the most interesting, charming, elegant, and compact art museums in Rome, the collection is neither chronologically arranged, nor very ordinate.

Instead, it is a personal, lovingly matched collection that reveals the personalities and tastes of 2 people: Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the greatest of the Baroque artists; and Scipione Cardinal Borghese, the greatest art collector, who initiated the Roman Baroque. Particular highlights include the "Caravaggio Room," where you can see paintings like "David with the Head of Goliath." Admire works by Raphael, such as "The Deposition and Lady with a Unicorn," along with sculptures by Bernini, such as his "Apollo and Daphne" and "David." Take a stroll around the beautiful gardens of the Villa Borghese, and take in the view over Piazza del Popolo.

Excellent tour, highly recommend to visit this gallery. Our tour guide Federico was very knowledgeable and talked us through the main highlights and key stories behind. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour, learned so much about Bernini and other artists, as well as the social and cultural context of the time. A must see in Rome, beautiful gallery, I would not have enjoyed the visit aa much without Federico guiding us through the rooms and his story telling of the key highlights.

The Borghese Gallery was a highlight of our trip! Even my teenage son loved the tour and took a ton of pictures. Our guide Pia was smart and sassy so it made it fun. And she made sure we had proper time on each area. It was a special experience!

I’m usually not a big fan of galleries soo I decided to see this one with a guided tour and it was definitely much more enjoyable. The gallery itself has some spectacular pieces but the guide (Analiese) made it come to life with her passion and enthusiasm for history and culture. She was great.
