We had a 9:00am tour. The Borghese staff was helpful in directing us to our tour host who had our entry tickets. The voucher we received has to be exchanged for a real ticket for entry into the gallery. Our tour host was easily spotted and issued the tickets quickly and accurately. Our tour did not have a guide, just a host issuing the pre-paid tickets. The Borghese Gallery does not allow backpacks or large purses but they provide free bag check and it’s very accessible. Do this before you enter the building. The gallery has numerous stairs upon entry but was spectacular with the priceless artwork it contains. We couldn’t find an audio tour to rent, but enjoyed just walking the gallery and appreciating timeless masterpieces.

If you are the art lover then the Borghese Gallery is the must! You'll find lots of high end art, especially Bernini sculptures. This gallery is more on sculptures than paintings though you'll find 6 masterpieces by Caravaggio in one place!! There is no other place on the planet to get the same concentration of Caravaggios. And of course the one and the only genius - Raffael!! Of course you'll find other masters works too like Tizian (Sacred and Profane Love), Rubens etc. On the negative side - I don't understand why this gallery asks that high price for the entrance ticket compared with Barberini Gallery for example?! Barberini Gallery asks you 12eur and you can go with the same ticket and visit the wonderful Corsini Gallery too! And the way to enter the gallery is quite inconvenient - we had to wait in line under the 40 degrees sun heat to step into the building one by one like ducks! Though inside the building there is enough room to hold the group of people.
