The River Tummel Rafting tour is seasonal and operates only 17 weekends each year. Tours begin in early June and run until the last weekend in September. Weight limit: 15 st and over please get in contact. The white water rafting tours lasts 2.5 hours max and the rafts that are used have a capacity of 6 participants. The meeting point is the loch-side picnic area of a scenic glen near Pitlochry, Scotland. There are large tents set up for you so you can change into your rafting clothes. You’ll also receive the equipment you need for the river adventure. After getting geared up you’ll take a 5-mile bus ride to the starting point of the rafting trip. Private cars are not allowed as this is a restricted dam area. Next is a comprehensive safety briefing by your guide, who will also answer any questions you may have. Once you’re on the water, the trip begins and the fun begins. You’ll be rafting on a tight and narrow technical grade 3 and 4 river. The scenery along the way is stunning and the rapids increase in difficulty as the trip progresses. On the final section of the river you’ll tackle a series of rapids cumulating in a 2-tier, 18-foot grade 4 rapid that will leave you screaming for more! The activity ends with a gentle paddle across the Loch, which takes you back to the meeting point.

On this full-day tour you will enjoy an adventure of both white water rafting and the new sport of river bugging. You start of the day at 09:30 with a white water rafting trip. This trip takes place on the River Tay, with the exception of the weekends between June and September when it takes place on the River Tummel. Both the River Tay and River Tummel rafting trips are great tours with both fun and adrenaline assured. The River Tay is a grade 2/3 river and the River Tummel is a grade 3/4 river. The half-day River Tay rafting trip is about 6 miles in distance, and starts from the old market town of Aberfeldy. Here the river winds lazily along the Tay Valley, through rolling hills and stunning scenery. This is an area with a diverse wildlife, which is best seen from the river. The paddle crew has ample opportunity to practice their newly learnt rafting skills with a variety of fun and challenging games before the river drops away and creates challenging rapids that flow down to Grandtully. In the afternoon you will try river bugging, the latest white water sport to hit the UK shores from New Zealand. Here you will sit in a 1-person raft similar to a giant inflatable armchair! River bugs are a great way to play on the river if you want that little bit more excitement, and are ideal for summer river levels as you don't have to wait for the rain to gain the thrills of the outdoors! After receiving expert instruction from the experienced river bug guides, you will get out on the river (complete with your webbed gloves) and negotiate your own path down the white water rapids with the help of the instructors.

Then, paddle on to the second lef of your adventure, the River Tummel, and get ready for your drop! At the end of the tour, your raft drops down an 18-food (6 meter) waterfall into Loch Faskally! Each raft is led by a trained trip leader. Safety is ensured and covered in a comprehensive brief prior to the tour. During the tour, you'll learn and practice safety drills well before the most intense spots, ensuring not just a fun but also safe experience for everyone.

Finish your White Water Tubing trip off with some optional cliff jumping for a last hit of adrenalin. Water confidence is recommended as you will get wet, very wet!
