Armação dos Búzios: Walk Through the Natural Pools in Búzios

2. Armação dos Búzios: Walk Through the Natural Pools in Búzios

Places Visited: Pedra do Guardião The first stop on the circuit, which begins at the entrance to the Costa do Sol State Park, takes place in a scenery full of walls and immense cliffs with the blue sea in the background. There, the main attraction is the Pedra do Guardião (Keeper’s Stone), a capriciously carved rock formation that refers to a man’s face. A geological reference point, the environment invites you to explore the rocks until you reach the “vent”, a kind of lookout among the rocks with shade and wind. There, the order is to sit for a while, relax and contemplate. Natural Pools The “puddles” appear at low tide, amid the rock formations of the region, and are perfect for bathing and photographic records. Depending on the height of the waves, salty waterfalls are formed between the rocks, providing a spectacle of immense beauty. To take a bath, it is necessary to be aware of the orientations to avoid the submerged points that shelter hedgehogs. Praia dos Amores (Amores Beach) Charming and exclusive, the beach houses a small strip of sand and offers shade under the almond trees. Slabs submerged a few meters from the sand are suitable for snorkeling on account of the numerous fish and turtles that live there. A walk along the rocks leads to Ferradurinha beach (optional).

Rio de Janeiro: Skip-The-Line Sugarloaf & Private City Tour

8. Rio de Janeiro: Skip-The-Line Sugarloaf & Private City Tour

Your half-day private tour begins in the city of Rio de Janeiro, where you’ll visit the Selaron Stairway, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the historical downtown area. Afterward, you’ll head to Sugar Loaf Mountain. Experience spectacular views of the city, sky, the sea, and the surrounding area from Sugar Loaf, the mountain that is made up of pure rock and partly covered with Atlantic rainforest. It never disappoints visitors that decide to make their way to the top. Going up Sugar Loaf is nearly obligatory for those who visit the Marvelous City. From the top, it is possible to see not only Rio de Janeiro with its beaches and historical sites, but Niterói, across Guanabara Bay as well. Travel to the top of Sugar Loaf by cable car. We'll have Fast Pass Tickets, which means no lines to embark on the 4 stations. There are 2 stops on the way up. The first is Morro da Urca, a bit more than 500 meters from the starting point, where you’ll find a restaurant and can enjoy panoramic views of Rio de Janeiro. After this, there are only 750 meters left to reach the second stop, at the summit of Sugar Loaf. There are various stories about the origin of the name of the mountain, known as Pão de Açúcar in Portuguese. According to legend, during the peak of the sugar cultivation, the Portuguese put the sugar in clay cones to be exported to Europe. The farms were called sugar loafs, and the mountain had a similar shape to the cones. ATTENTION The tickets for Sugar Loaf are not included. After booking, we’ll send you a link to buy the tickets on the official Sugar Loaf website. The Fast Pass tickets cost around 45 US Dollars per person.

Pick up and drop off were easy at the Marina where there is a little store you can buy any last minute items you need for your trip, and a bathroom. Our guide, Wellington, did not speak English however we had a Portuguese speaker with us so all was fine. They had 2 medium sized coolers on board with ice and we put our food and drinks in there for the trip. There were four of us and we had ample room to be in the shade or lay/sit on the front to get sun. I wouldn't book for more than about 8 people. We stopped twice to swim in the water. We were able to connect to their speakers with Bluetooth and play our own music as well as request places to go. It was a great day!!
