Places Visited: Pedra do Guardião The first stop on the circuit, which begins at the entrance to the Costa do Sol State Park, takes place in a scenery full of walls and immense cliffs with the blue sea in the background. There, the main attraction is the Pedra do Guardião (Keeper’s Stone), a capriciously carved rock formation that refers to a man’s face. A geological reference point, the environment invites you to explore the rocks until you reach the “vent”, a kind of lookout among the rocks with shade and wind. There, the order is to sit for a while, relax and contemplate. Natural Pools The “puddles” appear at low tide, amid the rock formations of the region, and are perfect for bathing and photographic records. Depending on the height of the waves, salty waterfalls are formed between the rocks, providing a spectacle of immense beauty. To take a bath, it is necessary to be aware of the orientations to avoid the submerged points that shelter hedgehogs. Praia dos Amores (Amores Beach) Charming and exclusive, the beach houses a small strip of sand and offers shade under the almond trees. Slabs submerged a few meters from the sand are suitable for snorkeling on account of the numerous fish and turtles that live there. A walk along the rocks leads to Ferradurinha beach (optional).

Be picked up early in the morning to head to the most incredible landmark in Rio de Janeiro: The Christ the Redeemer statue on top of Corcovado Hill. Start at Copacabana Beach and pass Botafogo Beach and the Palácio Guanabara, the official residence of the State Governor. After meeting your guide, you will have a safety briefing, receive the protective gear, and we are set to start our Hiking Adventure in the Atlantic Forest. We will depart from Vila do Abraão with a historical walking tour, towards the Praia Preta (Preta Beach), the ruins of the Lazareto, an architectural landmark of Brazilian Imperial times and across the arches of the 19th-century Aqueduct that was considered one of the boldest structures of the time. The trail we use is considered moderate, with ups and downs through the lush beauty of the Atlantic Forest with its incredible biodiversity of fauna and flora. After approx 2 hour of walking we reach Feiticeira Waterfall. Feiticeira is 13 meter high water veil incrusted in the heart of the forest. After a break for a refreshing waterfall shower, we continue our tour towards the fantastic beaches of Eseada das Estrelas. We need approximately another 45 minutes to reach the fantastic beaches of Camiranga and Pereque where we can have another break to make the most of the day. Our last destination for today is Fora beach. Here ,we will stop to enjoy the beach and taste a complimentary drink, you also have the opportunity to taste de delicious Brazilian cuisine. (not included) Once we finish the brake, it is time to put the shoes back on and hike our way back to Abraao Village using the same trail we took at the beginning of the day. All together we will hike approximately 12km (both ways)

After this, there are only 750 meters left to reach the second stop, at the summit of Sugar Loaf. There are various stories about the origin of the name of the mountain, known as Pão de Açúcar in Portuguese. According to legend, during the peak of the sugar cultivation, the Portuguese put the sugar in clay cones to be exported to Europe. The farms were called sugar loafs, and the mountain had a similar shape to the cones. ATTENTION The tickets for Sugar Loaf are not included.
