7. Rio: Salgueiro Samba School Rehearsal Admission w/ Transfer

Who says you should wait until Carnival to see the Samba Schools? Samba Schools begin their preparation for the big Carnival parade several months earlier. The first samba school rehearsals start in July or August (this depends on each samba school). Every Saturday night we visit the prestigious Salgueiro Samba School (one of the best in Rio de Janeiro) and it will be a pleasure to take you to this unforgettable experience. Depending on your hotel, we will pick you up between 20:30 and 21:30. On arrival at the Samba School Rehearsal, a comfortable table will have been reserved for you. This magical evening will begin with an entertaining Brazilian Popular Music Band. Beautiful dancers, (baianas), talented musicians and the flag-bearing couple will introduce you to the fascinating world of Samba and Rio Carnival. The highlight of the evening will be at about 00:30 with the presentation of the "Bateria" (rhythm section), the heart of the samba school. Sixty percussion instruments played simultaneously in perfect harmony create a wonderful rhythm of unequaled strength and joy. This rhythm is a treasure, a true cultural heritage of inestimable value. You will remember this night forever ! We can describe the rehearsal of the samba schools, but there are no words to explain the incredible energy and unique feeling of visiting a samba school. The Salgueiro samba school rehearsal is not just a spectacle, it's a wonderful cultural experience that you can't miss on your visit to Rio de Janeiro.

What people are saying about Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

(+) a great bar with a flea market look, which is also popular with the locals (+) delicious food, also known to Germans (we had chicken and vegetarian to choose from) (+) great music, we had samba, but they also have other theme nights (+/-) Music was very loud, conversation is not possible, the Brazilians dance to it in front of the stage (-) We didn't receive a menu beforehand, the staff assumed that we would know the menu (we had to there were no questions on the table afterwards), there was no English or German version, so we had to find out everything ourselves using the translator app (-) unfortunately nobody explained the process to us either. We could choose between two starters and two main courses, and at the same time we could simply request drinks, which were included, as soon as our waitress was nearby. That was great. (-) we had booked without a transfer and still received two emails from the tour operator on the subject

Worthwhile few hours, chance to see what goes on behind the scenes: If not in Rio for the carnival, an opportunity to better understand the 'Carnival Process', along with a bit of fun putting on carnival costumes. You are in Rio to be a tourist: This was fun and interesting and supports the local community.

Our guide dropped us off at the club and picked us up at the specified time and the time at the club was great! We had a wonderful dinner and night of dancing.

Genuine experience. You get to know a lot about samba and carnival! Totally with the price, all the funds are distributed to an NGO.

It was so interesting and super fun! We want to come back to participate in Carnival next year!
