Half Day Cape Point Tour

1. Half Day Cape Point Tour

Our tour begins with a scenic drive along the Atlantic coast, passing through the cosmopolitan suburb of Sea Point and Camps Bay with its glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. From here we travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. Here we can see a variety of wildlife that includes baboons, rhebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. The reserve is also one of the world's largest breeding grounds for tortoises. Bird-watchers, too, will find many fine species to observe. The majestic coastline offers drama worthy of being called "Nature's Greatest Show." We'll be able to see the union of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans (as per legend), and may even feel the brisk wind that is dubbed the "Cape Doctor" for its presumed curative powers. Following the coastline along False Bay, we'll return to Cape Town by way of the Simon's Town (optional, own account & time permitting visit to Penguin colony), Fish Hoek fishing village and Muizenberg. We return to Cape Town, passing the University of Cape Town, Rhodes Memorial and the Groote Schuur Hospital.

Great guide but maybe too much for just half a day

Our guide Blaise was wonderful, we learned a lot and had a good time. But given the physical distances that need to be covered to get to the Cape Point, maybe less should be planned on the way and more time given to the Cape experience itself. That's a matter of taste though, I am sure others are quite happy having a suite of 5 minutes picture taking slots at the hot spots.

We had a great half day tour with lots of sights and information.

Mucky has done such a great job of providing interesting information (not just about the route but about SA in general), pointing out things on the way - never in a boring lecturing style but rather in a rather entertaining and easy to follow way.

the tour was very good. everything as announced. Unfortunately, the tourbus stayed on the way back and we had to wait for the replacement at the roadside so that I was an hour later than announced in the hostel.

Nice, quick, edficient and extremely friendly half day tour to see the essential without spending time waiting something to happen.

Very punctual pick up and a friendly and knowledgable guide who drove very safely and was happy to flex the experience to suit us.
