Full description
Your tour will begin as you step aboard a new-model bus, which is fully equipped with WiFi-connected computer tablets for each guest. The tablets provide you with a continuous stream of relevant information along the journey with a GPS synced audio guide, available in your choice of 10 languages. Follow in the footsteps of the vikings of old as you walk down into the rift valley, where the American and Eurasian continental plates are literally pulling apart at the Þingvellir National Park. This area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is also the birthplace of the oldest existing parliaments. You can witness the steaming geothermal springs as the ground trembles and hot water spouts spectacularly skywards from the famous Strokkur Geyser, the home of Iceland's most iconic natural attraction. You will also experience the magnificence and power of the Gullfoss Waterfall, a set of glacial river cascades falling 32 meters into a narrow canyon with a thunderous roar. After seeing the must-see attractions on the Golden Circle, you will take the tour up a notch as you get behind the wheel of an ATV for an unforgettable ride along Iceland’s South Coast. You can follow your guide along black sandy beaches whilst admiring the dramatic volcanic landscapes. You will begin by riding along an inland route that will eventually lead you onto the beach. There, your guide will carefully explain the history and geology of this natural place. This 1-hour tour is filled with adrenaline and incredible views for a short but sweet quad adventure. Throughout your tour your local hosts will make your experience comfortable, and are happy to answer any questions you might have about this peculiar country.
