Full description
Experience Iceland’s second-largest glacier from the inside and enjoy the rare sight of blue ice at the heart of an ice cap glacier on this half-day tour.  All tours depart from Húsafell, from where you will catch a shuttle to the Glacier Base Camp, Klaki. You will meet a professional guide and gear up in warm overalls if needed, before boarding a specially-modified glacier truck for the drive up to the cave entrance. Arriving at the cave entrance, head inside the glacier with your guide. The man-made Langjökull Glacier Tunnel is a wonder to behold. The ice is lit up from behind by glowing hues, allowing you to see the layers that have formed over many years. Your guide will walk with you through the glacier's corridors where you will have a chance to learn about geology, the history of glaciers, how they are formed and how they move.

When you arrive at husafell activity center they are not very helpful, but go outside to the left and you will see the bus. The bus ride takes you on a dirt road to base camp. At base camp you will board a special vehicle and go up on the glacier. The ICE cave was great we enjoyed it very much.

Very interesting and educational tour. Along the way to the ice cave, our onboard host, Christine, gave a lot of information about area and glaciers. Our guide inside the ice cave, Adrian, was very knowledgeable and funny. He explained the structures inside the cave, how the cave was formed, how deep underground the cave is and a lot more. Highly recommended tour.

Fantastic but also thoughtful experience, because this beautiful glacier continues to decline due to climate change ... Unfortunately, our tour had to be postponed due to bad weather conditions, but everything went without any problems and the experience was great. Kristina, our guide, had a lot of interesting things to say and was always in the mood for fun. And the truck drivers are experts in their field! You should think of warm rainproof clothing and shoes - but you can also borrow a rain jacket and overshoes if necessary. We would do it again in a heartbeat
