Board a high-speed vessel which has an open deck and coffee-bars and have a nice time during the ferry cruise from Heraklion to the island of Santorini (Duration: 2 hours approximately). Upon arrival to Santorini you will be transferred from the port to the magnificent Oia village on the north. During the transfer you will hear many interesting facts about the Santorini, its history, features and secrets from an experienced guide on the bus. In Oia you will have free time of about 2 hours to visit the picturesque spots and viewpoints, enjoy the breathtaking views and even visit the ruins of the old fortress. The town of Oia is famous worldwide for its iconic panoramic views, Cycladic architecture with white houses and churches with blue domes. Here you will find shops with collections of clothes, souvenirs and jewelry from greek designers, so you can enjoy the shopping as well while you are exploring Oia village. And if you get hungry you can try some local dishes in one of the restaurants with a spectacular view over Caldera and Oia village (lunch cost is not included in the price). After Oia the tour continues to the capital of Santorini - the town of Fira. Fira is as beautiful as Oia, the views to the sea and Caldera from its streets are truly breathtaking. You can visit a big Orthodox Cathedral on the main square in the center of Fira, walk through the city to find yourself on the very top with the unique panoramic view of the island. Fira is full of interesting and picturesque spots and corners. You will have almost 1.5 hour there to explore on your own. The last part of the excursion on Santorini is the Pyrgos village. You will climb up to the ruins of the old fortress from where you can see the whole island, because it is located on top of the very high hill right next to the highest mountain of the island. While you are climbing up and down you will see dozens of small churches. Pyrgos is famous for a very big quantity of churches especially comparing to the size of the village and the amount of local citizens. After spending 45 minutes in Pyrgos there is a transfer back to the port of Santorini so that you board the boat to return to Crete. The day trip ends at the port of Heraklion or at your hotel area if you select the option which includes hotel transfer.
