I arrived at airport and very punctual my driver was waiting for me to take me to me hotel drop my bags and then go to Ranthambore. It’s a long drive, so be prepared for couple of hours in the car. He would stop as many times as I asked him. When we got to Ranthambore we stopped to have lunch, and then to the office to wait for the Jeep. I recommend that if you are less than 4 persons traveling get a Jeep! It’s very nice a little more expensive, but I thought it was worth it. The national park has a lot of entrees and unfortunately the one we chose we didn’t see any tigers. But the view is beautiful we got to see other animals, and that’s part of nature. I know people that have done the tour 5 times and never saw tigers, and people that first time saw 2-3 even 4 tigers. So it’s just a matter of luck. We started at 2:10 - finished at 6:15 And then I got dropped off at my hotel in Jaipur. Long day, but I loved the experience. I think that it’s worth to try it.

We elected to travel to Jaipur from our hotel in New Delhi by train, A driver picked us up from our hotel and drove us to New Delhi rail station. The train was a fairly modern air conditioned train called the Ajmer Satabdi Express and our seats were in the comfortable Executive Chair Class carriage. On arrival at Jaipur, we were met by Janu, the owner of the tour company who immediately made us feel very welcome. We then met our tour guide Kumar who was very friendly and knowledgeable. Janu stayed with us as our driver. The tour took us to Jantar Mantar, at site of very interesting large stone and marble astronomy instruments, the City Palace, the Amber Fort, The Water Palace as well as other fascinating places in Jaipur. During the drive between sites, Janu would give us interesting stories about old and modern Jaipur. A wonderful and fascinating tour which we immensely enjoyed.

It was a great experience, nothing unnecessary, no shops and lunches (just when we felt really hungry we asked our driver to find something for us and he found a really tasty and cheap cafe). Several more words about the driver. He was the best ever! He was really experienced (and fashionable in his multicolored turban))) with a great sense of humor and quite good English. Unfortunately I forgot his name. You do not really need a guide visiting those places, and we were honestly told that. Everything was prepaid, we were given audio guides for Ranakpur. So, it turned to be one of our best tours in India (together with Taj). Ranakpur is for sure a must-see place, an incredible one.

It has been a real pleasure to share today with our guide Nitin, with whom we have made the visit to the fort of Kumbhalgarh and the Ranakpur temple from Udaipur. The explanations he has given us have been very useful to understand the history of both sites. The restaurant that has led us to eat has been of very high quality and has advised us correctly in the choice of dishes. Fully recommended excursion for those who want to visit Kumbhalgard Fort and Ranakpur Temple from Udaipur.

It was a very good experience. The driver was really good and careful, the guides in the park were gentle and informative. Most important of all, we saw two tigers and a lot of other animals, like crocodiles, deer and thousands of unique birds. Important information before you go: - The drive is long (about 3h each way, 6h total) and you will be on the tour for also 3h. - We did the group option with ˜16 people. If you have the money, I would chose the jeep/small group option
