Full description
Upon arrival at Hawes Pier, you will collect your boarding passes and pay for your landing passes to enable you to land on Inchcolm Island from the Maid of the Forth ticket office. Making your way down the pier you will board the Maid and set sail for Inchcolm, cruising underneath the iconic Forth rail bridge, a world Unseco heritage site. You will enjoy views of both the Fife and Edinburgh coastline, sailing past the Haystack seal colony and arriving at Historic Inchcolm Island. Here you will enjoy 1.5 hours to explore all the island has to offer, the Abbey, world war fortifications, visitor centre, and gift shop. There is something for everyone to enjoy on Inchcolm.

  • This trip is not suitable for wheelchair users.
  • The Island has gravel paths and can be uneven underfoot
  • The Island is home to nesting gulls at certain points in the season
  • Well-behaved dogs are welcome onboard the boat and Island; they must be kept on a leash at all times
  • Tours are non-refundable but can be transferred to a different date subject to an admin fee
  • Additional fees for entry to Inchcolm Island must be paid when collecting your boat tickets. This is a charge set by Historic Scotland for all visitors to the island. Those with Historic Environment Scotland membership, or those with English Heritage or Cadw membership are exempt from landing fees

It was brilliant just doesn't make it very clear you have to pay £12 extra for landing. I would have preferred if everything was included in the price so people don't have surprises. Also a guided tour is an extra £8.50 and on the boat they advertise to buy drinks as there are none on the island but there is...misleading. Otherwise wow what an amazing experience.

We really enjoy our trip today so lovely to see another part of Scotlands Historical sites. The explanations on the boat on our way to the Island and back was from the best quality information. The staff on the boat were all friendly very helpfull on the boat. Thank you again for a lovely day out.

Lovey few hours spent in the autumn sun cruising across the firth of forth to walk around the inchcoml island, with our 2 well behaved Airedale terrier’s although we did not take the guided tour we had a great time exploring the abbey ruins and the views where stunning, then a quick look around the gift shop in just in time for maid of the forth, returning to take us to cruise under the 3 bridges . Very enjoyable, Many Thanks to all the very friendly staff
