We'll follow this with a walk through the famous Mercato Testaccio, sampling some of the best bruschetta and buffalo mozzerella. Ready for pasta? We'll taste 3 Roman classic pastas at Flavio al Velavevodetto. This full-day tour is a combination of the Classic Rome Tour and the Imperial Rome Tour, and includes visits to all of the important sites in the Eternal City. In the morning the tour begins at Piazza della Repubblica. Your local guide will take you on a pleasant stroll through the historical center, where you can admire the Trevi Fountain, Bernini’s Palazzo di Montecitorio, Piazza Navona, and other sites. The bus stops adjacent to Vatican City so that you can admire St. Peter's Square while listening to your guide’s commentary on the Basilica. You’ll then have the chance to explore this magnificent church on your own and admire masterpieces such as Michelangelo's Pietà and Bernini's bronze canopy before re-boarding the bus. This part of the tour begins at Piazza Venezia and continues on to the Michelangelo-designed Piazza del Campidoglio. From here there are terrific views of the Roman Forum. You’ll then visit the Colosseum and tour the interior. This is the largest arena constructed in the Roman Empire. You’ll travel to the Circus Maximus by coach to see the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, before finally arriving at the Basilica San Pietro in Vincoli, where you’ll see the famous Moses statue by Michelangelo.
