Santo Domingo: Full-Day Tour from Punta Cana by Airplane

4. Santo Domingo: Full-Day Tour from Punta Cana by Airplane

Experiencing the capital of Santo Domingo is essential when getting to know the country. This is where the history of America began. It is a cosmopolitan and vibrant city, with a deep historical past associated with the conquest of the Americas. Located south of the island, the city is washed by the waves and breezes of the Caribbean Sea. The Colonial Zone, declared a Common Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, includes the oldest buildings created by the Spaniards as the first administrative offices, or the first cathedral in the new world. You can explore the colonial zone your way, with your guides designing a unique path for you, allowing you to save some time for shopping later. When lunch time approaches, you will be able to eat “La Bandera” in a typical restaurant. La Bandera is a national dish in the Dominican Republic, consisting of rice, beans, stewed meat, avocado, and fried plantain. As the afternoon closes in, you will depart to the airport to take off to Punta Cana.

What people are saying about Punta Cana

Everything super well organized. There was a tropical storm on the scheduled date and they rearranged everything perfectly for another day. Friendly, efficient ... The theme of the horseback excursion is a bit seedy: there are at least 200 horses (really) and the waterfall is beautiful but there are so many people that it becomes horrible. I recommend reef jet to get around the island as it is fast and cheap.

From pick up to finish the trip was an experience. A little more time on the island of Levanto and without stopping at the cigar shop would have made the whole thing even more perfect. Nevertheless, we can highly recommend this excursion. But you shouldn't expect to be almost alone at the waterfall. Here, too, the flow of tourists has set in and people everywhere ask you to buy knick-knacks.

We loved the experience. Two things we all agreed on: it would have been better to stay longer at the Caída Limón and skip the beach. Also, we would have appreciated to have a ballpark figure of how much tips to bring. And guides most be paid by the ranch in addition to tips

Pretty unique your experience all the way around. From the Narcos style plane flight to the beauty of the waterfall, and with all the little touches that made this tour what it was, I’d highly recommend. Nanó did a great job.

Great experience we really discover the real Dominican Republic.
