Full description
Depart Puno and journey to the floating islands of the Uros people on Lake Titicaca. Find out about how these islands are created by the locals using bundles of dried totora reeds. Learn the history of the area and interact with the locals to hear more about their life out on the water. Then, cruise over to Taquile Island in the largest part of Lake Titicaca. Experience life on the lake up close and get some stunning views of the Andes Mountains as a bonus.  Hear about the inhabitants of Taquile Island and how they descended from the Inca people to mostly work as farmers and weavers, and how they have inherited some distinct Inca traditions. Go for a medium-level hike on the island, known for its handwoven art and collective farms, and enjoy a lunch of local produce served in a local restaurant. Then, return to Puno city on the shore of the lake for the end of the tour services.

Enjoyed visiting the Uros on their island. Such an amazing experience seeing how the people live on their reed islands. Taquille was equally amazing for the culture and traditions they are working so hard to keep during these modernizing times. Transportation and the tour guide were great. My only frustration with the tour is that it was kind of annoying how the group was funneled into opportunities to spend more money.

If you want a visit of the essentials and quickly, I certainly recommend this tour. The guide also explained everything in great detail and it was a very interesting visit. To add a few drawbacks to the visit, the constant feeling that they want to sell you things and scam you is constant. I understand the need to earn a salary, but not by having to go on an additional boat trip that has to be paid separately and locals who only want to feel sorry for you or who simulate a singing show that in the end feels forced and you feel the pain. embarrassment they are suffering at that moment. However, this sensation is the same that you feel on most tours in Peru, which is why I return to my initial comment: I recommend the tour to learn a little more about the basic places and general culture, but it is true that I would not repeat Lake Titicaca again.

It has exceeded my expectations. The local people are super friendly. On the Uros islands they sang songs to us in Aymara and they showed us their houses and in Taquille we discovered how they make soap, how they weave and other super interesting things. We even got to dance with them!
