Full description
After pickup, leave Puerto Madryn and head South to the city of Trelew. The city name which in Welsh means "people of Luis", is a tribute to Lewis Jones, considered the city's founder. Enjoy a city tour through the city's highlights, such as the Plaza Independencia. Make a stop at the Egidio Feruglio Paleontological Museum (MEF), where entry is optional. The museum is home to dinosaur skeletons of different species found in the region, murals painted by scenographers of the Colón Theater in Buenos Aires, as well as thousands of fossil specimens. You will also be able to check out the work of scientists while they are cleaning, restoring and classifying fossil pieces. From Trelew, head south to the town of Rawson and to Playa Union. Here you have the option to embark on a dolphin watching boat tour. Usually they are seen in groups 2 to 10. From Rawson the tour departs to Gaiman, an old Welsh colony. Walk through its streets, visit the Welsh Regional Historical Museum housed in the former railway station. Visit the first house built in Gaiman in 1874, an old railway tunnel and the old chapels that provided spiritual support for the settlers. From there the tour returns to the city of Puerto Madryn.
