What people are saying about Province of Catania

Going off the beaten track, where there are not crowds of tourists is the best. It´s well worth the money as you can also borrow equipment as well. I advise you taking high thick socks of your own for the trekking shoes - they will be extremely dusty (normal). And understand you are going to walk on hords (or better sometimes "swim in" lava ash dust and spikey small rocks. As I had the oportunity to observe some extreme examples (elsewhere).... Please. Take proper clothing and a suncream, cover you head. Yes, the wind blows on the top - eventhough it's 40 near the sea. A hoodie does fine, pack it in your normal backpack (not a purse... ) together with a 2L bottle of water. The tour is not too demanding (at least in my opinion) - but I come from a mountanious country. The ascend is something like 400ms and the descend aproximately the same). Don't go if you are not physically fit (moderately). The enourmous crater (more of them) you will get the chance to see is worth walking.

Eduardo was an excellent guide, answered every question, adapted the pace and experience for even the weakest hikers of the group. We have booked the tour because it was recommended and it did not disappoint. Although it was changed but that’s what you have to keep in mind when hiking on an active volcano. To sum up, we had a blast hiked a lot and finished we a race down the hills!

Well worth the money. Seemed expensive at the beginning, but after doing the tour with Roberto, it became clear how experienced he is. The cheaper tours are mostly bus rides up and down the mountain, but not this one. We definitely got our full package Etna-experience. Roberto is a great guide, very easy-going, he made sure everything was fine with us. Recommend!

Great! Very fascinating spectacle and Alessio, our guide, was super friendly and super informative. All three of us are totally happy with the outcome of this mini trip.

Great tour. Maybe a little less Etna and more Taormina. The honey shop should be skipped and therefor we could have more time in Taormina.
