Enjoyed the walk up to the castle, lots of fun shops along the way. The castle tour is very well presented, each tour guide waits for the previous guide to move to the next room and close the door before they start their explanation of the room you are in, nice to not see guides having to talk over each other. Had excellent food on the way back down from the castle. The horse carriage is a great option to get up to the castle for those not wanting to make the hike up the hill. Driver was great getting us to and from Prague on schedule and safely.

Great trip

Tour guide we had to Karlstejn castle was great enjoyed the walk up to and around the castle. However the ticketing woman at Narodni street was nothing short of incompetent took her 45 minutes to organise our tour for 2 people. As we left late we missed the English speaking tour and had to use headphones on a Czech speaking tour

We picked the hotel up, everything worked really well. On the trip to Karlstein itself, the guide explained a few things to us. The tour should have been in German, but there was one English speaking guest in the group. So the tour was in English and it didn't bother us, but unfortunately the guide didn't speak English very well, which made communication a bit difficult. At the castle we had a guide directly from the castle, the lady did a great job and made it very interesting. All in all I would highly recommend this excursion, the castle is stunning and very interesting. The small village below the castle is also well worth seeing (in winter, however, most of the shops are closed) but the circumnavigation of the castle was a highlight of the trip.
