Full description
Your driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel. On the 1.5-hour drive to Kutna Hora, your guide will explain to you the rich history of the town, and its importance during medieval times. Upon arrival, you will first visit the famous Bone chapel. The chapel holds approximately 40,000 human bones from different time periods, mainly from the 13th to the 15th centuries. Legend has it that a lonely monk began the construction of the chapel in 15th century. Admire the strange bone structures and take photographs of this odd chapel. Then you will get back into your vehicle and drive to the Italian court in the city center. This building was initially designed as the King's residence, and later served as the mint where the quality silver coins were produced. From the court you walk along the wonderful narrow streets of the historical center. At the end of this walk, you will reach Saint Barbara's Church. The church is unique in its style of decoration and structure, and has an interesting history. The church is named after Saint Barbara, the miners' patron saint. Admire the amazing decorative architecture, and the famous frescoes from 14th to 16th centuries, with scenes of silver miners and coin strikers. After the visit, you will return to your vehicle and drive back to Prague, where you will be dropped off in at your hotel or in the city center.

FANTASTIC! Front door pickup. Great driver and tour guide. Less than an hour to get there, then the Ossuary and St Barbara cathedral were unique and stunning. The town is quaint and walkable, and we had a lovely tea break in a cafe before heading back to Prague. Our guide, Eva, was so kind and knowledgeable, and knew great fun facts that aren't in the typical guidebooks.... she was awesome!
