Getting Around Positano
Hilly Positano is best traversed by the local bus line, called SITA. Walking is great and you'll thoroughly enjoy the occasions when you're walking downhill. The town doesn't have a thriving taxi scene, as it is quite small. You may want to leave driving to the locals, as the narrow and steep roads can be unfamiliar for visitors.
How long to stay in Positano?
Positano is great for a weekend get away. Spend two or three days taking long leisurely strolls to the beach and back. If you want to see more of the historical sights, feel free to add a day or two to your itinerary.

What people are saying about Positano
Mirko and Caesare, the two travel companions, were competent, professional and friendly. The tour is timed to the minute and has not planned any traffic jams - which is always the case. This means that viewing time is lost, although the travel companions themselves extend the timeline a bit anyway. You could spare yourself Sorrento and spend more time in Positano and / or take a boat along the Amalfi Coast. The only way to get the overall picture of the Amalfi Coast is by combining a car and a boat. A city map in a handy form of Positano would be useful, so that one can move carefree through the narrow maze of alleys in the short time available. Not everyone likes Google Maps.
It was a wonderful tour with Francesco. Booking a day tour is highly recommended especially if you have limited time in Italy and you want to see the best spots. Very convenient and comfortable with the private car in touring around Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. You would be touring for an hour for each town, excluding some random stops for picture taking and the lunch along the way. The restaurant for lunch in Praiano has nice sea view with delicious seafoods and Italian food. The driver, Francesco, also shares some facts and trivias about Italy. He also gave recomendations where to go when you start to do your own tour. Definitely a memorable one.
The tour was excellent, as was our tour guide, Mirko. He was pleasant, provided interesting & amusing information about the sites we visited and was very focused on us. The group was small (which we liked) and there were opportunities for some great photos. We stayed in each spot just long enough to shop a little and do some sightseeing. Overall a very good day and value for the price.
Beautiful excursion along the Amalfi Coast, thanks to the punctuality, friendliness, competence and professionalism of Rosanna and the great driver Maurizio. Visited Amalfi, ravello and very pleasant little stops overlooking Sorrento and Positano. The experience of sharing emotions and landscapes with people of other nationalities is also nice. Recommended!
Really enjoyed the experience! Our driver and tour guide were very good and helpful. Good way to spend the day as the coast was gorgeous
