    Visit the unparalleled Douro Valley, the first denominated wine region in the world and a world heritage site by UNESCO.

    Start at the meeting point in Porto and embark on a scenic drive around the valley. Make a short stop at a viewpoint and then visit the first winery of the day. Try some red and white wines, olive oil, and other products. Pair everything with local bread, jelly, cheeses, and hams.

    Take a short walk through the vineyard, and learn about the work being done during the season, such as pruning, grafting, and harvesting.

    Then, stop in Pinhão for a typical Portuguese lunch at a local tavern with 2 dishes, meat and fish, and as well great options for vegans and vegetarians.

    After lunch, take a mini-cruise in a typical boat along the astonishing Douro Valley, with all the scenic views of the Porto Wine vineyards, terraces and wineries as a background.

    The journey will continue through National 222, a road with more stunning views. Stop at the 2nd winery to learn about the famous Port wine of the region, with tastings. Finally, return to Porto in the late afternoon.

      We had a great day in the Douro Valley on Monday June 6th. We were a very nice little group of 7 people and our young guide Francisco was just perfect. Francisco is friendly, outgoing, knows the Douro Valley very well (his family is from there) and his level of English is impressive. With my husband we ended up on this tour in English (despite that we had booked a tour in French), but we do not regret it. Francisco also has a good level of French.       Really nice day out - we had a lovely small group of 7 people in total (including us), and we really enjoyed the boat tour, as well as the 2 very different vineyard experiences. Our guide Thiago was very nice and informative, and adjusted the trip to a really good rhythm of the group.

      Really great tour! The guide and our group were pretty funny and relaxed. We started at 8:00 am in a bus. After around 2.5 hours of driving we arrived in Douro valley. We had a wine tasting, ate lunch in a restaurant with wine, salad, meat, fish, dessert, espresso etc., and made a 1-hour boat tour. You are able to taste some (port) wines, get information about the local production, and take some great pictures in different spots. Everything was inclusive without any extra costs. The only thing that could be improved is the communication in advance. We received the final information (exact pick-up location and confirmation) on the evening before the tour started. It is also annoying to specify a pick up location because everyone is starting on the same place (hotel pick-up isn't included anymore but sometimes possible against surcharge). Anyway, I loved the tour and recommend it!
