Full description
Escape Port Douglas for a few hours and spend the morning visiting local farms. Discover the tropical scenery of the region while you make your way to the first farm on the trail, a family-run 100-year-old sugar cane farm. Here, sample a refreshing sugar cane and lime drink, hear some of the farm's history from the farmers themselves and enjoy a Daintree Estates chocolate tasting. Your next is the Daintree Saltwater Barramundi Farm. Here, collect your fish, the star ingredient of your lunch, and enjoy a tour of the farm, including fish feeding. Finally, travel to the Shannonvale Winery for a tropical fruit wine tasting. While you sip exotic wine, your personal chef will prepare a 3-course lunch with ingredients collected during the tour. Lunch is served at the edge of the orchard.

Great experience from the start. Pete introduced himself and we took off. First stop farm tour with sugar cane drink & chocolate. He shared great stories & kept us very entertained. After a quick farm shop we headed to a Barra farm. Fed the fish & had some amazing sashimi prepared by Pete. Then off to the Shannonvale winery where we tasted delicious wines & Pete cooked the rest of the Barra for our lunch. Ended with Daintree ice cream. Amazing! Highly recommend this trip. Great value and wonderful to support local tourism during Covid. Just do it!

Peter, the tour operator, displays his knowledge and passion regarding the areas surrounding Port Douglas and the local produce available, including a shop run exclusively to showcase small, local producers. After visiting a number of local producers, Peters’ skills from his previous life as a chef come to the fore, as he prepares a delicious lunch of sustainably sourced Barramundi prepared three different ways. Incredibly fresh and tasty. An enjoyable day and we highly recommend this tour.
