The park and experience are great. However, if you’re opting for the skip the line ticket and audio guide - don’t. Just get a skip the line ticket and rent your audio guide at the train station. The park audio guides ( old cell phones with an ear bud) must be returned to the park main gate (they hold on to your passport until you return). The park is huge - you could exit closer to the train station but you have to trek all the way back to the Supieore gate to turn in the audio device. There are tons on kiosks to rent audio guides outside the park gate or next to the train station. You could also hire a local guide by the gate to show you the highlights. Also, one last tip - many of the areas are only open to walk through for limited periods. Many of the spots didn’t open until after 1400. Either arrive early to avoid the crowds or go a little later for a wider experience.

Access and the audio guide collection counter are very well indicated. However, the information provided when booking is incorrect. The audio guide is in fact a telephone, so you can take headphones with jack or type C output or even not take headphones at all because you can listen without, by sticking it to your ear and you can hear very well. They also sell headphones for 1 euro. Regarding access, you can also enter through the Porta Marina Superiore, at the same place where you pick up the audio guides. You will have to queue to have your reservation voucher scanned and given your entrance ticket. Count between 3 and 4 hours of visit to see the main one.

We really liked the visit to Pompeii, the staff that works there was very friendly, always willing to help, and the audio guides, which are mobile phones with an interactive GPS map that shows you at all times where you are on the map, being able to click on the number on the map and hear all the information about a place of interest, they are simply great. To repeat, the truth, since to see well the entire magnificently preserved city of Pompeii takes more than a day. That yes: this time in summer no, since it was a tremendous sun and heat.
