Travel from Rome to Pompeii in an air-conditioned private coach, accompanied all the way by your expert tour coordinator. Benefit from skip-the-line entry and enjoy a self-guided visit around the ancient city. Throughout the ruins, you’ll come across death casts: plaster recreations of unfortunate citizens preserved by the superheated volcanic ash. After visiting Pompeii, the coach will take you up the slope of Mt. Vesuvius (from April to mid-November), one of Europe’s few active volcanoes located in the Vesuvius National Park. From here, take a short hike up to the steaming crater for stunning views of Capri and Sorrento. During the winter season between November and March, Mt. Vesuvius is closed, so your tour will follow the coastline and take you to the city of Naples, where you can explore the iconic Castle Nuovo, the famous art deco Umberto I Gallery, or simply wander around th...
Well organized tour and well priced. My only recommendation is to allow more time for Mt. Vesuvius. Having only one hour to climb and descend was not enough time for us to fully aprreciate it.
Experience how the ancient Romans lived at the site of the Pompeii ruins on this 6-hour combination tour. See the Forum, the Stabian Baths, a brothel, the House of the Faun, the House of the Tragic Poet and more. After visiting Pompeii, take a half-hour break before beginning the second part of the tour. Head off on a drive to the top of Mount Vesuvius through the natural beauty of pine forests and lush woods and bright yellow flowers. Enjoy stunning views of the Bay of Naples. Enjoy a walk with a volcanolgist guide who will tell you about the geological history of the volcano and its eruptions.
The tour was amazing and our guide, Ale and driver Rosario were a wonderful dynamic duo, loved Pompeii and the view on Mt Vesuvius was breath taking

Very well organised tour from start to finish. We had an excellent guide, Alexie? I believe. Would recommend.
You’ll be picked up at your designated point of departure and travel by comfortable minibus or van to Pompeii on this half-day excursion to explore the ancient ruins of this famous Roman town. Ever since the ancient Greeks settled the area in the 8th century B.C. the region around Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples attracted wealthy vacationers who came for the sun and the stunning scenery. By the turn of the first century A.D. the town of Pompeii, located about 5 miles from Mount Vesuvius, was a flourishing resort for Rome’s most distinguished citizens. Elegant houses and elaborate villas lined the paved streets. Tourists, townspeople and slaves bustled in and out of small factories and artisan shops, taverns and cafés and brothels and bathhouses. People gathered in the 20,000-seat arena and lounged in the open-air squares and marketplaces. Your tour guide will show you the most i...
Great trip with very good guide. Only negative thing was the transport to Pompei, pick up was 10 min late and then at one hotel the driver waited for more than 20 minutes for passengers that did not show up in the end. I think it it is enough to wait for max 10 min.
Enjoy a day on Italy’s scenic Amalfi Coast and explore the archeological ruins of the ancient Roman town of Pompeii on a full-day excursion from Naples. You’ll be picked up at your central Naples hotel or outside your cruise ship at the Port of Naples. Your first stop will be Pompeii, at one time a thriving Roman town and now an archaeological site. Buried under ash after the towering Mount Vesuvius eruption in 79 AD, the city was lost until the 1700s. Today, you can walk along the old Roman streets and see the houses, shops, bars, and even a brothel among the excavated ruins. As you drive along the Amalfi Coast, marvel at the spectacular scenery. Your driver will stop at a fantastic location overlooking Positano and its bay for the stunning views. From here you’ll continue on to Amalfi, where you’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the clear blue waters.
Great, got much more than I expected. Lunch was great with a beautiful view just a little late in the day so be sure to have a good breakfast
Explore the ruins of Pompeii on a 2-hour tour of the Greco-Roman city, covered for 1,700 years by layers of ash and pumice, from the devastating eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. Your guide will describe a flourishing civilization, brought to life by the excavations of the 1800s and 1900s. Follow in the footsteps of the citizens of the greatest empire the world has ever known, and see how they lived, loved, worked and played. Among the highlights of the site are the Porta Marina (Sea Gate), one of the city’s original entrances, as well as the Forum, Main Square, and surrounding temples, porticoes and law courts. 20,000 people lived in the provincial town, of which 2,000 perished. Twenty feet of volcanic ash and pumice stone covered the city, freezing everyday artifacts for later prosperity. Among the most poignant sights are the plaster cast models taken from Pompeii citizens, and their ...

Good trip. It was hot as is expected for the time of year. Glad I didn’t continue up to Vesuvio on the same day.

Paolo was absolutely excellent. He is an archeologist who has been (and still is) actively involved in excavations near Pompeii. He was prompt, friendly, and engaging. My 2 daughters, ages 8 and 11, really liked him and learned a lot. He kept s good pace to keep interest high—and also sought out shady spots when he’d stop to tell us about something. Our visit was greatly enriched by Paolo. I walked past other visitors in large groups being strung along—or going it alone without a guide—and felt very glad we chose to use Askos Tours. Even in the hot, walking for almost 3 hours, my girls were nothing but happy and engaged. (And so were the adults in our family: we are 3-generations.) Worth every Euro!
We were able to enjoy the stay very much through the tour of Fiorella and received a lot of valuable information about Pompei from her. A tour of Pompei is recommended in order to be able to optimally understand the history and daily life in Pompei. Tip: Be sure to go in the morning. We were there at 9:00 a.m. Pompei was still easy to visit and only a few visitors were there at this time. From around 10:30 a.m. the city fills up with people and it is difficult to move forward (especially when groups of cruise ships visit the ruins).
A great fun and interesting way to bring Pompeii back to life before our eyes! A 2 hour visit, punctuated by the viewing of mini video in virtual reality. The audio guide in French is well explained and always linked to a video. Well done and well paced, the 2 hours go by at full speed. I highly recommend if you can afford to take an official guide with this tour and not the assistant, because some details escaped us despite everything.
The guide entertained the children in a wonderful way and was attentive to every need, in the end even gave them magnets and a book about Pompeii
Guide (Roberta) very prepared and very good with children (7 and 11 years old). It is worth the expense
