Discover the magic of the wonderful city of Verona and the regions of Amarone and Valpolicella. On this tour we will head over to the medieval towns of the Valpolicella region and a chance to visit the 13th century church of San Giorgio with its splendid altar dating back to 712 A.D., where there are some of the most beautiful panoramic views of Sirmione and Lake Garda. From here we drive to a vineyard to have a guided visit and learn more about the famous Amarone wine. We will enjoy tasting some of the different wines they produce and a chance to purchase a few bottles to take with you, such as Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella. Onwards we travel to the city of Verona at Piazza Bra, where the world famous Roman Amphitheater – the 3rd largest in Italy - is located. It dates back to the 1st-Century A.D. and boasts more than 22,000 seats, making it a perfect venue for outdoor operas and concerts. You will have approximately 3 hours of free time (with optional lunch) to enable you to visit the house of Juliet (from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet), the historical Piazza delle Erbe and some of the exclusive shops around the city. Then just sit back and enjoy the views as we return to Venice.

Make your own way to Venice railway station in the morning and board the high-speed train that will take you to Verona in just an hour and a half. Meet your guide at the train platform in Verona and begin your tour of the city. Wander through the picturesque and historical streets of Verona, the so-called "city of love". and discover the locations of Shakespeare's tragic play about two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet.  Visit Juliet's balcony where she looked out upon her lover Romeo, the lucky statue of Juliet, Romeo's House, Piazza dei Signori, Porta Borsari where the duel took place between Capuleti and Montecchi, and the famous Arena, where famous concerts are still held every year. End your tour in Piazza Bra. Then enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace before catching the train back to Venice. Do some shopping, taste the famous "Juliet's braid", a typical dessert from Verona, or sip a glass of Valpolicella, a wonderful red wine from the famous namesake hill of Verona. Reach Verona railway station in the early evening and catch your train back to Venice. Arrive in Venice railway station at approximately 7.00 pm. You will receive your train tickets the day before the tour date.
