Full description
On this food-focused tour you’ll not only get to feel like a local — you’ll get to eat like one, too. Breezing through the city in a tuk-tuk, you’ll have the chance to explore Phnom Penh’s vibrant street food scene, from roadside stands to bustling market stalls, for a whole evening of eating, drinking and discovering how locals enjoy this energetic city. Bustling Central Market is your first stop, where you will explore the fresh seafood and local fruit stalls, check out the best BBQ and spring roll stalls, and admire some of the more unusual (to Westerners anyway) street food options like fried cricket and spider. Leaving the market, you’ll discover the food stalls that line the streets, stopping to taste authentic Khmer delicacies, and maybe sitting down with the locals in some hidden foodie hotspots. The Independence Monument is next on your agenda, for a quick insight into the city’s history and a great photo op. Then hop in a tuk-tuk and ride off towards the night market, enjoying the buzz of the streets and the wind in your hair as you race across town. At the market, you’ll try Cambodian noodle soup or a Khmer curry, depending on your preference, and soak up the sights and smells of this frenetic place. Your penultimate, spectacular stop will be the stunningly illuminated Wat Phnom Pagoda, and then you’ll end with a traditional dinner and dessert at a locally loved restaurant.

We had a fascinating evening with Neang riding tuk tuk between food markets, restaurants and stalls. Neang was very friendly, spoke excellent English with a good sense of humor and he answered our questions as we eagerly tried the different local delicacies. We even tried a few unusual things (insects and durian) that we wouldn't normally eat. We highly recommend this tour as an easy way to experience real Cambodian cuisine and culture.

Neang is such a lovely guy. He took care of everything you need and gave us an interesting view into the foodcene of Phnom Penh. We liked to talk with him about the food and everything about the khmer culture and history. Driving with a Tuk Tuk around the city to different markets and stops is a very comfy thing and everything was well organised. Thank you Neang for the tour! Highly recommended!

A great tour, we are still totally saturated. You could really look into the street food scene, which we as tourists would never have succeeded in doing. Everything was totally delicious and thanks to the very good guide we got a lot of background information. 100% recommendable!
