Full description

Walk and taste your way through Philadelphia’s 9th Street Italian Market on this guided walking tour. Immerse yourself in the scents and sounds of this lively street as you taste a variety of local food samples, such as cannoli, tomato pie, and tacos.

Along a stretch of 9th Street in the heart of South Philadelphia lies the Italian Market, one of America’s oldest and largest outdoor markets. This collection of butchers, bakers, specialty shops, and restaurants has been the backbone of this neighborhood since its creation in the late 1800s.

The market has survived throughout the passing decades by welcoming vendors from around the world. Today, it remains a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Come along for a stroll through this historic market to immerse yourself in the vibrant fruit stalls, fragrant bakeries, and various shops and unique stores. Get inspired by the area’s hidden alleys covered in local street art.

You’ll also have the chance to sample several dishes, such as Philly’s famous tomato pie, hand-made cannoli, fresh tacos, an Italian Market specialty, and immigrant-inspired food. Get introduced to Italian Market staples so you (and your tastebuds) get the most out of this flavorful tour.

If you are a vegetarian or have other special dietary needs, don’t worry: discounts are available and your guide can assist you with recommendations on where to purchase alternative diet-friendly food during the tour.

Wherever your guide leads you, your senses will be popping as you discover one of the most unique, thriving, and diverse areas of the City of Brotherly Love.

We loved this tour!!! It was almost a private tour as there was a very small group. The guide, Chuck was great fun, very knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. Chuck knew a lot of the local vendors which made the tour more personal. Would definitely recommend!
