Full description

Enjoy a trip to Berlengas Island on a fast boat and visit the caves while looking down through the glass bottom. Admire the outside and inside of different caves, like the Elephant cave, Dream cave, Furado Grande, and more. Afterward, take some time on your own to explore the Island. Walk the beach, gaze up at the lighthouse, discover Forte S. João Batista, and walk the Island's trails.

Meet your guide and board a semi-rigid boat or sports yacht. Head toward Berlengas Island, an eco-haven with a visitor limit, so you can experience its true beauty without the crowds. First, take a short tour around the island and learn all about the different caves, while gazing at the underwater marine life through the glass-bottom boat.

Spot the Elephant cave and feel amazed at the way the natural rock formations resemble the trunk and face of a great elephant. At the dream cave, take in one of nature's masterpieces and learn of its history. Then, at Furado Grande, learn why it translates to Big Hole and how it stretches across the entire island.

Take your time afterward to guide yourself around the Island. Look out over the turquoise waters from the beach. Walk up to the lighthouse and imagine yourself alone. Then understand more of Portugal's history by examining the remains of Forte S. Joao Batista.

Feel free to bring your own snacks, or some extra cash with you to buy them on the Island during the months of May through September.

We enjoyed the experience. Fast boat ride was exciting. Cave trip was cool. Two things to note. Cave trip can drop you off at the castle, and then you van walk back. second, there isn't a lot of time to explore the island, focus on the right side then after the cave tour you can see the other side on return from the castle. It's a rugged, beautiful place.

A great experience, the islands are totally paradisiacal, the surroundings, the fort, the crystal clear waters and the caves. The monitors did an excellent job, very attentive and making the trip fun. If you are from marerte, you may have a regular pass on the trip, but they give you bags if necessary and offer you all the help they can.

We went from Lisbon and it was totally worth it. The boat trip was incredible, and the visit to the island is highly recommended. It is a nature reserve with coves where the water is transparent. There are brave people who swim, it was not my case, but walking through the lighthouse and seeing the fort was worth it. I recommend not only the visit to the island, but also the tour of the caves. We went with Feeling Berlenga, the boats are smaller but very cool
