Milos Highlights: Full Day Sailing Cruise in a Small Group

1. Milos Highlights: Full Day Sailing Cruise in a Small Group

Starting from Adamantas and sailing close to the east coast of the bay, you will pass the Christian catacombs, the colorful villages of Skinopi, the capital of ancient Milos and the place where the famous statue of Venus de Milo was discovered.  You will then reach Cape Vani, the bay which was home to one of the first metal mines in Milos. After seeing the old 19th-century mines, you will have the first swim at the bay of Kalogries in crystal clear turquoise waters. After swimming and having some fresh fruit, cakes and refreshments the skipper will set sail for Sykia, the biggest and most impressive cave of Milos. After a quick swim, you will take the small motor-boat under a low passage made of lava rocks and visit the cave.  Head back to the boat and enjoy some ouzo with a variety of Greek homemade tapas. Finally, you will reach Kleftiko, the old pirates-lair. Snorkeling here is an amazing experience due to the underwater passages, caves and an unsurpassed water clarity. Back on the boat, refreshments and ice-cold beers will be waiting for you, followed by a delicious meal and dessert. After you eat you can take the dinghy and go explore the unique Kleftiko caves and passages.  Later, the boat will head east towards Gerakas bay, after a short swim, enjoy fresh fruit back on the boat. The cruise ends in the beautiful tranquil bay of Provatas around 7:00 PM. From there, you will travel back to Adamantas in just 15 minutes.

Weather permitting, you will circumnavigate the islet, visit a few of its sea caves and paddle through its tunnels and arches. Your next stop will be the one and only accessible from the sea beach of the island of Sphacteria. Chania: Private RIB Cruise to Balos & Gramvousa Island

4. Chania: Private RIB Cruise to Balos & Gramvousa Island

fter jumping onboard, our first stop on this full day trip is Balos beach, a lagoon of outstanding natural beauty located at the far tip of Gramvoussa peninsula, the most western point of Crete. The whole area is been declared a protected area by the Natura 2000 programme and conservation of the area is our top priority. Leaving only our footprints in the pink-white sand, we take a swim in the turquoise waters of Balos and Gramvoussa island before heading to our next stop, Menies. This hidden cove is located on the northeastern shore of the Rodopou peninsula, parallel to Gramvoussa. Menies is located on the site of ancient Diktynna, that was the most important temple of the goddess Vritomartis, which is believed to be goddess Artemis. After a refreshing swim on the pebbly beach, we make our way back along the coast towards Chania. We cannot miss the opportunity of making a stop alongside Thodorou island, a protected haven for the endangered wild Cretan goat “agrími” (or easier, “kri-kri”). The island is uninhabited and is also a Natura 2000 protected area. After our last dip in the clear blue waters, we head back to Chania harbour, if we´re lucky we might see the turtles!

We had a fantastic day in the kayaks with George and the orher guide. They took time explaining everything before we went out and they where very attentative on the whole trip. The cave with the blue water was very beautiful and a great experience to swim in it. We had a very simple greek lunch at the beach. The trip can definitely be recommended.
