From Bangkok: Day Trip to Pattaya City & Sanctuary of Truth

1. From Bangkok: Day Trip to Pattaya City & Sanctuary of Truth

Get picked up from your hotel in Bangkok at around 7:30 AM and ride about 2 hours to Pattaya City. Visit the Sanctuary of Truth, a large wooden structure constructed in 1981 by the sea at Laem Ratchawet. It was conceived from the concept that human civilization owes its existence to the religious and philosophical truth. You’ll learn how the grand castle has been built by ancient wood-joining techniques you can’t see elsewhere in the world including tongue and groove techniques, butt joint, dovetails, sapped spurs, and more. It’ll be your once-in-a-lifetime experience to participate in the construction of the miraculous national and world heritage. Continue your journey to Pattaya viewpoint which is located on Khao Phra Tam Nak which is a small hill on the South of Pattaya Beach. The location is the best spot to see the panoramic view of Pattaya City and its bay from above. On the hilltop, it’s also the site of Naval Radio Station where the monument of Krom Luang Chumphon Khet Udomsak, the Father of Royal Thai Navy, is situated alongside a sacred Buddha image. Enjoy your free time at Pattaya Beach, the half-moon-shaped Pattaya Beach that is 4 kilometers long with a road running parallel to the beach. There is a variety of restaurants, hotels, bars, department stores, and souvenir stores as well as other places of entertainment. Depart from Pattaya at about 3:00 PM and arrive at your hotel in Bangkok at around 6:00 PM.

Sit back and enjoy the air-conditioned ride as you’re taken on a full-day trip to Ko Lan (Coral Island), a dreamy island just off the coast of Pattaya. Spend 4 leisurely hours on the island of Koh Lan. Swim and snorkel in the warm, clear waters, try some beach sports, or simply relax on the white sands. Once you’ve soaked up the sun, you’ll head back to Pattaya Pier. Explore Pattaya Viewpoint and take in panoramic views of the area. Visit the incredible Sanctuary of Truth temple. Although still under construction, it’s a striking piece of architecture with detailed woodworking. Take one last glimpse of the sea before being transferred back to Bangkok.

3. From Bangkok: Pattaya City Day Trip with Private Driver

Get conveniently picked up in the early morning from your hotel in Bangkok and then drive 2.5 hours to the east coast of Thailand where the famous Pattaya City is located. First, visit Khao Chi Chan the famous place which features a giant sculptural image of Lord Buddha erected on the giant cliff. It was built 1995 as an initiative from the Supreme Patriarch who felt it was such a waste to leave the marble mountains which were already destroyed so he ordered to create the giant Buddha image on the cliff that was cut half already. I really enjoyed this trip because of the city's attractions being close to the beach. I booked a private tour (probably because the group tour option was unavailable). So, the Sanctuary of Truth was amazing to see and I highly suggest that anyone visiting Bangkok, Thailand, visit Pattaya City. Also, the markets alongside the beach are worth visiting because of the multitude of attractive services open mid-day. The Big Buddha shrine at the top of the hill is also another interesting attraction for tourists to visit.

Great trip thanks to Jacky and Uncle S-k driver. Car was comfortable with AC and had a rest stop. The island was beautiful and Jacky made sure everyone was okay and kept an eye on our belongings. Pattaya viewpoint was also very nice and had a lot of culture to it as explained by Jacky. Sanctuary of truth was pretty- just saw it from outside. Thanks for the lovely tour.

I was not updated about the meeting time that was 7:00am so I waiting at the meeting point since 5:40am and as a solo traveller I really freaked out. I think to the travellers who are taking the tour should have full information about the guide before hand meaning contact number in case of any emergency like this.

I had great time on this day tour! Jacky the tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable! He took care of us every step of the way and I am so glad to finally see and experience Pattaya!

Mr. Tania was amazing when it came to showing us around
