Booked the private tour because we needed the highlights during the 2 hours, and recommendations for a leisurely browsing later. Sophie, our guide was prompt, knowledgeable and very passionate about art and her country’s history. We enjoyed her commentary especially because it didn’t seem like a prepared dry spiel. On the way there, he told us interesting details about the history of the Louvre. He unerringly led us to the masterpieces. Again and again he brought art history to life through his remarks. A brilliant afternoon, made the most of in a huge museum. Worth every euro!
