Booked on line a few days before - very easy to navigate site. Boats depart right across the street from Eiffel Tower, so easy to find. There is a choice of two sailings, we opted for the 20.30 one. Excellent service throughout the whole experience. The waiter was very attentive, food was excellent (although only one vegetarian option for each course), and there was plenty to drink - we had a glass of pink champagne, a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine between 3 of us, all included in the price. Didn't feel like we were on a boat at all - very smooth passage. And stunning sites to finish it all off. Well worth the money, we had a great evening, just went too quickly!

  • River Seine Cruise from Parc de la Villette

    3. River Seine Cruise from Parc de la Villette

Start your day in Paris with one of its most enchanting attractions, and take a 2.5-hour cruise along the Canal Saint-Martin and River Seine. Embark in the center of the Parc de la Villette, and cruise gently along the canal to Rue de Crimée’s elevated bridge, as it goes through the Bassin de la Villette, before entering the magnificent Rotonde by Ledoux. Adventure begins with the first lock at the Récollets Center, where you will catch sight of the Hotel du Nord. Discover the real Canal Saint-Martin, filled with the poetry of its romantic paths and pedestrian bridges, bordered by chestnut trees and populated by fishermen. Then, the boat will be plunged into darkness as you enter a tunnel of more than 1-mile, taking you through a mysterious underground vault that is perforated by light holes. Filled with magic and beauty, when you emerge into the light at Arsenal Port, you will see the...

It's a nice boat cruise on an offbeat path. I liked how I had not seen this part of Paris before. It's like a hidden gem. The seine cruises are a dime a dozen and this cruise differentiates itself. I read some of the other reviews and I didn't find the speaker annoying, nor did I find the seats uncomfortable. I agree that you could bring a snack and a drink. The weather I had was perfect +23 and sunny. Bring sunglasses and bring a jacket just in case. You go through 1.5km of underground cavern type area. Very cool. You see lots of different bridges too. As far as improvement on how to make this even better, I do agree with someone else's comment that the last 20minutes on the Seine seems too short. It would have been nicer if this cruise went up the river farther to the statue of liberty and turned around and came back to Orsay. (just because the Canal and Seine are two different worlds). They really complement each other. Do this if you've been to paris B4.

Choose a morning start time when it is less crowded, and then meet your guide to start your journey in Paris at the Eiffel Tower. You will hear tales as you walk, and learn about its creation for the International Exposition of 1889, a world fair. Detested by Parisians in its early days, the tower eventually won over the hearts of the locals and it became the city’s most feted icon. After you pass the 2 security controls, you will head straight up to the second floor or summit (depending of the option that you book) by elevator while enjoying anecdotes and tales of history about the Paris landmarks below your feet. I was not able to purchase any tickets from the official Eiffel Tower website, but had no problem with GYG. The tour was wonderful, easy meeting place to find, helpful friendly and knowledgeable guide. She gave us fascinating information with detail and cheer. Thoroughly enjoyed this tour. What was NOT PRESENTED in the tour information, was that the combined Tower and Seine boat tour are different times. The tower tour took about 1.5 hours (you can stay as long as you like). The boat tour you are on your own, you ticket is good for a year, but there is no information provided when purchasing on this, or the timetables. There are multiple Parisean Bateaux tours!! It's impossible to know which one you are looking for until to speak with the guide. I had multiple tours planned each day, so I was worried if this would fit in, and we only has ONE DAY left, so I wasn't happy about the "surprise" that we had to find our own departure time.

Paris airport transfers: Everything you need to know

World-renowned gastronomy, art, and stunning monuments like the Eiffel Tower --in Paris you have endless opportunities and things to discover. You’ll find that moving between Paris’s neighborhoods is easy thanks to the city’s public transportation, including the local metro, buses, and regional trains. When going to one of the nearby airports, you will probably want to skip public transport and take a Paris airport transfer instead. Why waste time in the metro when you can save it for a bit more exploration at the Louvre?

The Paris region has three local airports, so always make sure that you’re positive on which one you’ll be traveling through. The last thing that anyone wants during their fun trip is to miss a flight.

Charles de Gaulle, the main transport hub for the entire country, operates a lot of international flights, and is northeast of the city. The next biggest airport, Orly, has many regional flights within Europe, and can be found south of Paris. If you will be taking a domestic flight or going to a neighboring country, you might be traveling throughout Beauvais. This is a small airport north of the French capital.

What makes airport transfers convenient in Paris?

You can grab an airport transfer to all three airports in the region. It will allow you to sit back, relax, and enjoy an extra cappuccino at a charming coffee shop before you have to go into travel mode. While you can use public transportation to go to the airports as well, it’s not a particularly convenient choice.

Most metro stops in the city do not have escalators or elevators, which isn’t fun when you have a heavy suitcase. When you’re going to Orly or Beauvais, you will either have to take a bus or switch metro lines several times. It also tends to rain often in Paris and the last thing you want is to wait for a bus to arrive while it’s pouring cats and dogs. Save yourself the headache and stress and just book yourself an airport transfer ahead of time -- your future self will thank you.

What different types of transfers are offered?

If you will be traveling with a group of people, the most convenient choice would be to hire a private minivan for everyone. It can either pick you up directly from where you are staying or grab you from a meeting point in the city center. To save a bit of cash so you can do some extra shopping during your trip, reserve a shared minivan that will pick up other travelers departing from the same area.

Many different private transfers will also take you from Disneyland Paris and Parc Asterix. This might be easier for you if you are planning on making a stop at one of these attractions during your time in France.

What are the expected fares for Paris airport transfers?

For a private transfer that will take your entire group to Charles de Gaulle, plan on spending around 75 € total (approximately $82). When traveling to Orly, it will be closer to 60 € (approximately $65). Looking for a more affordable option? A shared shuttle bus to Beauvais will only end up costing you around 20 € (approximately $22).

If you decide that you’d like to take a shared minivan to either Charles de Gaulle or Orly, the cost will be less than 20 € for you. A bus to Charles de Gaulle from Disneyland will be closer to 40 € (around $44).

When should I try to book my airport transfer?

If public transportation is on strike while you are traveling, make sure that you book your airport shuttle way ahead of time, as they will sell out quickly. You will also want to get to the airport rather early, as traffic can be terrible during these times.

Plan to be at Charles de Gaulle around two hours before your flight, as it’s a busy airport with lots of travelers. Because Orly and Beauvais are smaller, you can plan to get there an hour and a half before your flight.

What people are saying about Paris

Overall rating

4.5 / 5

We were concerned about how we would meet the driver but he called me as soon as we collected our luggage upon landing. He arranged to meet us at the door we indicated. The driver was polite and professional, with a clean comfortable vehicle perfect for 4-6 people. He also charged the extra amount as agreed upon for four passengers with luggage. This was a good experience for a fair price. Thank you!

Even though our plane was a little late, our driver was there waiting for us with a big smile. He was dressed in a suit and the car was spotless. We're very happy with the professional service we received and will book a car again with this company.

Excellent driver, nice and clean car. He picked us up at the exit and took us to the car. He opened the door for my wife. Excellent and defense driving through the chaotic traffic in Paris. Highly recommended

It was nice to be greeted at the airport by our driver. No concerns on how to get to our hotel, just sit back and enjoy the new sights.

Driver was waiting with sign as we came to arrival. Very kind and proffessional.
