We had a 10 hr tour with Alan. His English was excellent, because he went to college in California. He picked us up at our hotel and we went to the National Museum in time for the opening at 8:30AM. Even though it was Sunday, there were very few tourist for the first half hour. We saw the Jade Cabbage with only two other people! We were disappointed that the Jade Pork has been transferred to the Southern Museum. Next, we went to 101 building and went to the top and had soup dumpling lunch at Dai Tai Fung. Alan was able to get us seats in only 20 minutes, while the line was 2 hrs. Next we went to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial. Alan put us in the best position to see the changing of the guards. We went to see the Grand Palace and then he dropped us off at the airport.
We had one day during a business trip to Taipei and not a lot of preparation time to decide what to visit. Our guide, Jack Chou, was fantastic. Not only was he well prepared for what to show to us, but also in what order to enable us to learn about the old culture and how the country evolved to what it is today. He also tought us about the food and Taiwanese specialities as well as some political framework, this country operates in. Highlight was certainly the spontaneous trip to Tamsui to enjoy the waterfront and the sunset there. All in all a very condensed but exciting day with a very good host and guide! Thanks Jack!
Nelson was knowledgeable, informative, gracious and accommodating host. His English was excellent. The car was clean and comfortable and we so appreciated the free wi-fi (after being at sea with no connectivity). Nelson's driving was safe but with purpose. It was a rainy day but we still got to see so much and stuck to a tight end of day deadline.
My 5 year old son and I did an 8-Hour Day Tour of Taipei with our fantastic Guide Jack. He was happy to accommodate our wishes, including those of my son, plus show us a few hidden places of his own recommendations. We would happily go on another tour with Jack should we return to Taipei!
Vincent was an excellent tour guide. His English was spot on, never had to ask him to repeat anything. Was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of the areas we visited. He also knows the best places to eat.
