Full description
Make your way to the Pantheon to explore the best-preserved monument of ancient Rome. Collect your audio guide at the desk inside the Pantheon to begin learning about its fascinating history. Make use of 15 listening points and a map to locate points of interest inside the basilica. Learn the history of the building and how it later came to be used a church and a mausoleum. The Pantheon, built between 25 and 27 B.C., is the only ancient Roman building that has remained nearly intact through the centuries. Dedicated to all the gods of Pagan Rome, the temple was built by the Emperor Hadrian on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus. Classified as a temple, the original use of the Pantheon and how people worshipped there is unknown as the structure is different from other traditional Roman temples, such as the Roman Forum.

I booked this audio tour learning that it is the only chance to visit the Pantheon over the weekend and I would do it again when in Rome. It is not a skip the line ticket so we had to wait in a very long line but it took about 5 minutes to get inside, don't be discouraged seeing a lot of people waiting. The process of getting the phone (their phone) and headphones is easy, the sound quality is great and the information provided the best. Once you have the phone and headphones, you can do the tour in your own rhythm and stay as long as you want.

Booked this so we can enter Pantheon on a weekend. I think less crowds cause it’s usually free on weekdays. Today, it was controlled so it’s better. Can’t imagine if every one outside would go in. Too much people. Anyway, audio guide was a big help too. Took us less than an hour to complete it. Overall, interesting experience.

For this activity, I truly enjoyed this activity. It was more convenient on the weekend because, we discovered due to high volume of tourists and this site is free entrance, if you do not have a "reservation" for a tour then you are not able to enter on the weekend. We showed them our reservation for the audio tour, they let us in. You would go to the counter to get your audio device-you will need your ID because it is a smart phone and brand new earphones. After your tour you return the smart phone, keep the earphones and you can be on your way.
