Given our unprecedented times of safety and concern, I can easily recommend this cruise as something to do in Ottawa and remain feeling safe. I was impressed by the fact that there were so few others on board which allowed all the passengers to remain socially distant and still enough room to walk about to take photos. We were greeted with sanitizer (which has become the new ‘hello’ for most) and advised of the COVID-19 protocol.
Excellent, organized tour of the Ottawa River. Our friendly guide, Katherine, was very knowledgeable and combined humorous stories with factual information. The tour stopped briefly on the way back in Gatineau to pick up other passengers. The two unisex washrooms on the boat were very clean and distancing measures regarding seating were in place. The snack and beverage bar had an adequate variety of options at a reasonable price.
The guide Terry was a blast and he made the boat cruise pleasurable. It was informative and just enough interaction after which we were left to socialize with our party. The only thing is it rain terrible as such the rain flooded the deck and the crew really tried to clean up excess water, the cover were pulled to stop the rain from wetting us. Overall though the experience was great.
The down side was the lack of sound speakers, therefore was not able to hear 100% of the host's description of the landmarks- that was one main reason I came to this cruise, as I wanted to learn more about the Ottawa city. Next time I'm gonna ask if the designated guide is working and whether the speakers are working, before purchasing the ticket.
Katherine was the tour guide. She was extremely friendly and helpful. She was 100% knowledgeable on the tour places. She recommended an ice cream shake place and it was delicious.
