Portland: Eastside Craft Brewery Walking Tour

1. Portland: Eastside Craft Brewery Walking Tour

Meet your guide and small group across the river from downtown Portland in the inner Eastside industrial district. The meeting point on SE 7th Avenue is located in the heart of so many scenes, from coffee to food, distilleries and street art. For the best of Portland's brewery innovation and history, start here, where beer (and cider) flourish and learn of Portland's craft brewing history from those who lead the way.  Walk into the hotbed of beer, through the neighborhood that borders the Willamette River and allow your guide to personally select breweries representing a trip through the Oregon's brew past, present and future—and the whole US. Follow your guide through the Eastside, where you'll find an assortment of beers to satisfy your personal preferences, like sours, craft barrel-aging, Belgians, wits, imperial IPAs, and more.  Walking distance will be 2-3 miles (3-5 kilometers), with just enough beer tasting so you'll know which stop you'd like to return to. At each brewery, your guide will lead you through the choices and let you select your favorites, offering you recommendations for a classic experience, or customized the tasting to fit your likes and dislikes. Cider options are available at each brewery for gluten-free or wheat-free tour guests, and the route is mostly flat so the walk is appropriate for all abilities. This craft brewery walking tour is conversational in style; your guide is eager to share beer knowledge as well as a window into the culture of this neighborhood, one which has supported the city's street artists, skateboarders, brewmasters, food innovators, and a number of other unique parts of the city's evolution from an afterthought to a sought-after destination for tourists worldwide.

What people are saying about Oregon

Wonderful trip - and Marcus was one of the best guides we have had on any tour. He set the tone well in introducing our other fellow day trippers, was Incredibly knowledgeable without talking non stop, had a great sense of humor, and he clearly knows the right spots to visit. As for the 2 wineries? Small, boutique and great tastings along with a lovely charcuterie lunch, and as Marcus has worked at a winery in another ‘past life’(!) he added to that experience too. Perfect day, as was the weather although that was outside of Marcus’ skill set!! Thankyou!

Loved the walk through the neighborhood! We went to 3 different breweries and were allowed to order two sample beers or cider from each one. Our tour guide, Sara, got us snacks at two of the breweries that were AMAZING! If you like root beer, be sure to try the root beer at the first stop - it was awesome!

Everything went as advertised. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. I would recommend this tour without reservation.

Jeri was amazing!! We had the best time and really got to try a huge selection of Portland’s finest brews. Highly recommend!

Our guide Daniel was very engaging. We had a great experience. Included local neighborhoods in addition to breweries.
