Full description
Oakland’s exploding food scene is making headlines as one of the top travel destinations in the country, and the Uptown neighborhood is the epicenter of the action. Its best restaurants, cafes, and bars in this arts-oriented district have helped earn its acclaim as America’s Best Neighborhood. Even if you’re an SF Bay Area local, you'll learn about an evolving food and arts neighborhood you’ve not yet had the pleasure to meet on this 3-hour guided foodie tour.
Guests will learn about the neighborhood’s historic treasures, including the Fox and Paramount theaters, as well as recent additions to the nightlife and gallery landscape as you sample snacks and craft cocktails from some of the newest and most notable food artisans in the Bay Area. Note that the stops on this tour are fairly spread out, so be sure to wear your walking shoes.
Start your jaunt with empanadas and house-made craft beer at Woods Bar & Brewery, followed by Calavera's tacos on handmade heirloom corn tortillas. Then wrap your own hand rolls at Itani Ramen. Sample Donut Savant’s bite-sized wonders, then Dosa’s Indian street food, rounding out the tour with a scoop at Humphry Slocombe.
