Full description
Take a 30-minute guided orientation tour of the Statue of Liberty, and learn its unique history with a local guide. Located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island, the park has an interesting history and many monuments. End at Castle Clinton, where your guide will then help you to board the ferry to Liberty Island. Cross New York Harbor to the Statue of Liberty. Take a self-guided audio tour with the provided headsets. Then, cross to Ellis Island to learn about the immigrant experience at the Ellis Island Immigration Museum. It is thought that at least 40% of all current US citizens can trace one or more of their ancestors to Ellis Island! Once concluding the self-guided portion, visit the 9/11 Memorial & Museum and honor all those who lost their lives in the horrific terror attacks on September 11, 2001. Also visit the 9/11 Memorial which remembers and honors the 2,983 people who were killed in the horrific attacks of September 11, 2001 and February 26, 1993. The 9/11 Museum has over 10,000 monumental artifacts directly linked to the events of 9/11. Explore how the events of 911 impacted the world. You can download the 9/11 Museum Audio Guide App onto your own personal smart phone and listen to the 'Witnessing History Tour" which will guide you through the 9/11 Museum. The itinerary did not explicitly say that my GetYourGuide rep was to give me my museum tickets when our group initially met. He left the group as soon as we were all checked in and I didn't have his contact info. Several hours later at the museum, it was discovered that he was supposed to give me our tickets as the bar code on my group confirmation did not suffice, and I had to buy them out of pocket. I contacted GetYourGuide immediately and, though they tried thier best to help over the phone, there was nothing they could do in the moment to fix the situation.

Overall, good.

David was knowledgeable & helpful & really good with the children that were with our tour. One suggestion is that maybe he should have a flag or something easy for the people to keep an eye on him while walking since he walked very quickly and there are so many other people around.

Bonnie was great!

Our guide Bonnie Baker was amazing, she is very polite, fun and well-informed, she made all the information interesting but dynamic. Pity that because of lack of time we couldn't get to the 9/11 museum or at least get a voucher to visit in a future time, we just had time to visit the memorial. Thanks for everything!
