Full description
Your culinary tour of New Orleans starts where it all began — the banks of the Mississippi River. From here, you’ll witness the lifeblood of this region which brought new cultures, new influences and new ingredients to the USA through its ports. Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day, you'll indulge in New Orleans' most iconic breakfast pastry covered in powdered sugary goodness, the beignet. Next, head up to the French Market, the site of America's oldest public market and a unique culinary space where you can grab a local bite to eat and meet some of the locale's colorful personalities. From the French Market, you’ll embark on the picturesque streets of the French Quarter where your guide will take you to some of their favorite palette-pleasing spot, both classic New Orleans as well as delicacies you won't find outside Cajun country. If you have an affinity for the spicier side of life, you'll love unleashing some Louisiana hot sauce. This is the birthplace of Tabasco, after all.  On this tour, you’ll have the chance to try a dish that sparks more controversy among chefs than any other in New Orleans: gumbo. Learn how hundreds of years of history has shaped this recipe and how it can vary from restaurant to restaurant. Finish off with a sweet treat made from locally grown sugarcane and the region’s abundant pecans.

Our guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and exciting! Mr. M took us to the very best places that are hidden gems to most tourists! I would highly recommend him to all my family and friends for a future tour guide of the French Quarter! I truly enjoyed trying the difference between the Cafe du Monde beignets and Loretta's, and the Muffuletta, and the Seafood Gumbo, and the best grilled oysters. Thanks Mr. M!

My husband and I had a very fun time! The food was amazing! The portions weren't sample sizes, they were full size orders and water was provided at every restaurant. Kaizer, (not sure how to spell his name), was awesome and fun. He made sure it was a good tour for everyone. It was so valuable to have a local for the guide since he knew the best places to eat at and knew first hand about the culture. I definitely want to come back to New Orleans in the future.

Angela was an amazing tour guide. She knew so much about the history of NOLA, it's people, it's traditions and best of all it's food and food scene! She not only provided us with AMAZING tasting food, she gave us great recommendations, historical perspectives, AND followed up with all of it in an email so we didn't have to remember it all. She fit in so nice with our group it was as if she was on our trip with us!! I HIGHLY recommend the tour but also HIGHLY recommend asking for Angela!
