Excellent tour. I learned a lot of things with my guide, Jungle James, who is great at transmitting his passion about the Amazonian forest and lifestyle and truly has eagle eyes. The lodge was very nice and simple, with comfortable beds and private bathrooms. The guest family who built the lodge is also very welcoming. I had an amazing time and really recommend anyone who enjoys walking in the forest and animal spotting to do this tour. One note though: the Amazonian forest is incredibly full of life and diversity, but this side is not teeming with jaguars and other dangerous animals: this tour is not a safari. You have to enjoy silently walking in the forest and seeing animals from a distance. I saw many monkeys, sloths, caymans and others and it was incredible to me. But be aware that this requires a certain amount of patience.

It was a fascinating and very interesting experience for us. On the market we learned a lot about fish, fruits and also religion’s must haves. And after we enjoyed our cooking class in the garden - the Moqueca was delicious and we got a lot of good advices for cooking it as well at home. So for everyone who loves fish and Caipirinha - go for it!!

Plan your visit and allow about two hours to visit the palace (without audio guide). Afterwards you should of course visit the beautiful garden. You can also easily spend a couple of hours there.

Luciano was very caring, always making sure that we were following and understanding everything

An idyllic beach island for those who love beaches - very relaxing and beautiful views
