Tijdens je dagtrip naar Karlovy Vary vanuit Praag, heb je de mogelijkheid om de grootste, meest bekende Tsjechische Spa (in het Duits Carlsbad genoemd) te bezoeken. De oprichting van de stad is in verband gebracht met keizer Karel IV sinds 1358, toen hij hier een jachthuis bouwde. Er zijn 12 beroemde bronnen met een temperatuur van ongeveer 72 °C, waarvan Vridlo de bekendste is.
Karlovy Vary is ook beroemd om zijn lokale porselein- en glasindustrie. Deze producten zijn te zien op een speciale tentoonstelling en worden verkocht in gespecialiseerde winkels.
