Activiteiten in Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos
Het Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos is een van de belangrijkste monumenten van Cordoba. De bouw van dit verdedigingscomplex werd in 1328 gebouwd in opdracht van koning Alfonso XI de Castilla. Het Alcazar heeft prachtige tuinen en binnenplaatsen waarvan die in de oude stijl behouden zijn gebleven. Het is samen met de moskee en de synagoge een van de meest bezochte bezienswaardigheden in de stad. In 1931 werd het fort bestempeld als goed van cultureel belang en maakt het deel uit van het historisch centrum van Cordoba - dat op zijn beurt in 1994 door de UNESCO op de Werelderfgoedlijst is geplaatst. De katholieke vorsten brachten meer dan acht jaar door in het Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos en van hieruit leidden ze hun campagnes tegen het koninkrijk Granada. In de "Toren van Eerbetoon" vroeg Christoffel Columbus in 1486 om geld voor zijn zeereizen.
