What people are saying about Niš
This tour did not take the time to find enough interesting things in Nis. And one of the advertised activities, the Roman ruins where the Emperor Constantine was born and raised, have been closed for a couple of years and the Serbian government has not announced when it will be reopened. That was the major attraction and we had to look through from a distance and could see nothing. Our guide, Georgi, was very good. But we realized later that having a Serbian guide would have been more enlightening as to Serbia’s view of the world, which was one of the reasons we were visiting Serbia. Also, the border crossing in the day we took the tour took 1 hour and 45 minutes. The tour company has no control of that but it was a long wait and took the momentum out of the experience.
Nis is a good way to see Serbia from Sofia
The best part of this tour is seeing another country from Sofia. I thought the guide was great and you have a nice drive through the country where you can take photos and just admire the landscape. In the tour you walk around and see the skull tower and a small concentration camp. Walk down town for about an hour and have a nice lunch. This is worth doing but it's Nis isn't an amazing city so know that going in. I would recommend it totally to someone that has never been to Serbia.
Lovely day. The guide Meto is very knowledgeable. He was the driver as well, very good one and was ponctual. Carefully got as there and back. Nis was unique experience. Nice city, affordable. I would definitely recommend.
Our guide, Alex, was friendly and knowledgable and we enjoyed our day with him. We liked him so much we booked a tour for the next day and hoped he would be our guide.
