    Full description
    Explore Sainte Marguerite Island with a round-trip ferry transfer from Nice. Choose from multiple departure dates to suit your own schedule. Located about a half-mile off shore from the French Riviera town of Cannes, the le Sainte-Marguerite is famous for its fortress prison (Fort Royal) in which the so-called “Man in the Iron Mask” was held in the 17th century. The ferries depart every day at 09:00 and return at 18:00, with a crossing time of around 1 hour. Once on the island, you can follow the marked trails that take you on a botanical and historical tour. Stroll by the Batéguier pond to see numerous species of migratory birds. Go to Point de la Convention to find unique plant species. Continue to the Fort Royal and explore the mysteries of the masked man. Pay a visit to the Maritime Museum sheltered within a fortified enclosure. Get an insight into the area's history and see items recovered from ancient Roman and Saracen shipwrecks.       Nice trip. Small breakfast is served on the boat. Lovely forest, unfortunately, they seem to be cutting down quite a lot of trees. The area to go to the water was much better than on mainland Nice (Not too deep close to the shore, not too many stones). However, it was also rather noisy due to the many boats close to the shore.

      Great for a relaxing walk and beach adventure. Bring enough food, water and snacks with you. Restaurant are at the beginning of the eiland. I had a small beach alone for myself for 2 hours. This was the best day of my holiday. Clean and very queit eiland (I went on a thursday at the end of may) with lots of beautiful spots to be discocer.

      Ferry sympathique, personnel vraiment excellent, l’île est magnifique, eau transparente superbe pour la plongée masque tuba, vous pourrez y admirer les poissons et la végétation sous-marine, prévoir juste pique-nique pour vous éviter de devoir traverser l’île entière pour manger des sandwiches de très mauvaise qualité à des prix exorbitants, il y a aussi un bon restaurant qui parait excellent mais pas pour tous les budgets. Soyez prévoyant afin d’aller aux toilettes avant de traverser l’île car aucun autre endroit pour les envies pressantes. Par ailleurs, prévoir le papier toilettes et du gel hydroalcoolique. La propreté des WC n’est pas au rendez-vous.
