Our guide, Bruce, was a travel writer and Manhattan native, so he knew a lot of interesting Manhattan history and present day hot spots. We really enjoyed his tour and his energy. As for food, some of us showed up quite hungry, but we didn’t stop to eat anything until about an hour into the tour. According to the tour description in GYG, we we supposed to start out with some kind of pastry for breakfast. Nevertheless, the food we did have was tasty, and the venues were interesting!

Perfect start for sight seeing downtown Manhattan!

Josh is a ‘sparkling’ nice guide and told us a lot about the history of downtown Manhattan. He knows very much about New York and he is able to walk, guide, tell stories and to keep our attention during the whole tour. We liked the combination of walking (with 7 persons), listening to Josh and tasting food in the different parts of downtown Manhattan. We enjoyed the tour very much!

Great guided tour of the history of New York. Our guide really knew his stuff. However, I felt like we didn’t get much, if any, background on the selection of food. There weren’t any explanations culinary-wise. Also, though we tried a bialy, we didn’t get the traditional foods that people think of when they visit New York, I.e. bagels, pizza, Katz deli, etc.
