Full description

Depart New York City and travel by bus to Washington DC. On arrival go to key monuments of the capital of the United States such as Capitol Hill, home of the US Congress. Learn about the structure of the government. Stop at the White House to see the official home of the President of the United States, including the West Wing where the Oval Office, Cabinet Room, Situation Room and Roosevelt Room are located. Admire the memorials to Jefferson, who wrote the Declaration of Independence, and Lincoln who ended slavery in 1860. Visit the Iwo Jima and Vietnam Veterans Memorials to understand how these events changed the country. Get a glimpse of Arlington Cemetery where over 200,000 soldiers have been buried since the Civil War. Spend some time at the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum (closed for renovations until November 2022).

Marcos is a great guide. Declared great. Was a lot of fun with him. He explained everything very extensively in English and Spanish. The Spanish explanations were rather annoying. There were only a few Spanish speakers on board. The English explanation would have been enough for them. We had to be content with that too.

Great trip to DC

The trip delivers you what it promises: a visit to several of Washington's famous landmarks. Enough time at each stop to take a couple of pictures. Our guide, Laura, was great, helpfull and friendly. Before each stop she would give enough background information. I am quite sure that next time we want to spend a few days in DC, because in the end a one day trip is too short, but we knew that before hand.
