Full description

In remembrance of 9/11, this walking tour guides you through the former site of the World Trade Center. The tour is guided by New Yorkers who have a personal connection to 9/11. On this tour, you will explore Ground Zero and the 9/11 Memorial, where you can pay your respects to those who lost their lives in the World Trade Center. Visit St. Paul’s Chapel, a makeshift rescue center and tribute to the victims of one of history's darkest days. Hear the stories of the emergency services at the Firefighter’s 9/11 Memorial, and see the Engine and Ladder Company 10/10, the fire station of Ground Zero. If you select the 9/11 Museum entry option, your tour will include timed entry tickets to minimize waiting times. The entry time will be scheduled for the end of your tour, but the entry time may vary depending on the day's availability.

Please note that this is not a guided visit. Visitors can explore the exhibitions at their own pace and take time to honor the memory of those who perished. The 9/11 Museum contains artifacts from the events of 9/11 and you can also listen to recordings from people who were there on that day.

I have visited this site 5 times, each time at different stages of its development. The memorial is very fitting for those that lost their lives in this truly awful terrorist attack. I enjoyed listening to the story of the architect that designed the mirror pools and the meaning behind how the names were displayed. Also very touching hearing about the white roses. The visit round the museum was very emotional, even after all this time I am still in disbelief that something so horrific and tragic could have happened. Our guide was amazing and very brave to relive his story regularly on his tour. Well done Daniel.

We can really recommend the tour. Very well organised and not too much walking. Our guide Jim Quinn was excellent. Really passionate about the whole story. The horrific tragedy of 9/11 and the heroic, spirited recovery that has followed. His personal recollections of the day were evocative and his recounting of various tales of the day itself were powerfully emotional. One last piece of advice. Go for the add on museum entry ticket rather than buy separately. We made that mistake and had to queue for an extra hour. Martin & Lizzie. Nottingham England

The Guide was fantastic and knowledgeable. I learned so much during the tour. I do recommend that if you do the tour and plan to visit the museum that you attend the 10:30 tour and then take a short break before going to the museum. The museum was so well designed to respect to the victims while also presenting the timeline of events. But doing the tour and museum back to back without a break was emotionally heavy. You do need at least 2 hours for the museum.t
