From here, head to the 9/11 Memorial and gather around the Memorial Pools. Listen to your guide share detailed information about the monument and the design of the pools, as well as the architecture of the new World Trade Center and its symbolic use of materials, light, and reflections. Our guide, John was amazing. Very knowledgeable. He brought 9/11 back to us. Very moving. Some people didn't realize that they would mainly be outside so might stress the need for warm clothes. We didn't have time to see the museum. I should have saved the whole day to see everything. An amazing memorial to those who died.

1/2 hr from midtown at least, taxi less expensive than Uber. The guide, Daniel was excellent. He managed the group and stayed on task. He provided many interesting facts otherwise not known, emphasizing the sensitivity of the creators for the memorial to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

Peter Van Buren provided an excellent tour!

As a family of four with an eight and ten year old girl we were cautious about our activities at the 9/11 Memorial. Our kids are educated in the topic and mature, yet we wanted to strike the right balance between the emotional challenges that 9/11 presents for all of us and the need to learn. Our guide, Peter Van Buren, did an amazing job striking that balance. The tour was in depth with artfully placed stories that were told with a skill that made the tour personal. There were moments where the content was heavy which we expected, Peter was kind enough to give us a gentle heads up so that we could step away at important moments. I was grateful for his consideration, but the content was appropriate throughout. For a long time I have believed that guided tours can be a significant enhancement to special places. Over time that has certainly proven to be true, but only when the guide is a caring expert like Peter. I highly recommend touring the 9/11 Memorial with Peter Van Buren
