You have to experience sandboarding in Port Stephens. The thrill of sliding down the spectacular Stockton Sand Dunes is so much fun. From the meeting point at Birubi beach, you will board the custom-built off-road vehicle to start your adventure on the short, bouncy ride into the largest moving sand mass in the southern hemisphere. The dunes stretch 32 kilometers, the entire length of Stockton Beach, and can reach over 40 meters high, the same as a 10 storey building. The views alone are spectacular. Once you are in the dunes, the team will give you a rundown on sandboarding and how to use the handmade custom-designed boards for maximum safety and speed. Then you are off. Climb to the top of the dunes, jump on your board, then slide on down and repeat. Your ticket includes unlimited sandboarding so you can stay and play as long as you like. For most people that’s about 1 – 1.5 hours. When you're done just jump back aboard one of the 4WD buses, that leave every half an hour, and be taken back to the Birubi Beach starting point. It’s an amazing experience for everyone, no matter your age. The instructors are always on hand to help, answer any questions about sandboarding, Port Stephens or the dunes and to make sure you have maximum fun. Admire the stunning environment of Manly Cove on a relaxing kayak tour. Arrive early for a coffee or tea while you get ready for your tour. After a short safety briefing and paddling demonstration, you'll head out with an experienced guide and explore the cove's four beautiful beaches. We will paddle to Collins Flat, Store and Quarantine beaches, passing picturesque caves, striking rock formations and mini-waterfalls. You will stop on a secluded beach to learn a little about the local area and enjoy a refreshing juice and snacks. If you are keen to take a dip, there's plenty of time for a swim before we paddle back. You don't need any previous experience kayaking, as this is a gentle tour at a leisurely pace. Your experienced guides will make sure you have a well-fitted life jacket, and give you a safety briefing and paddling demonstration before we head out. You are welcome to bring a phone or small camera to capture the views, as we hand out dry bags before setting off. You will have a choice of a single or double sit on top kayak. The single kayaks are streamlined and fast, or choose a double kayak if you'd like to share the paddling in a sturdier ride. Children under 10 can join with an adult (or two) on double kayaks (which have a middle seat). Children 10-18 must be accompanied by an adult, but can paddle solo. In the case of unsuitable weather, we will postpone the tour. This is a small group. Maximum 8. Larger private groups can be arranged by request.

Be shown the basics before you set off, the kayaks are stable and easy to steer. No prior kayak experience is needed.  Receive a map of the kayaking area of operation, and when you are ready, begin your kayaking adventure. Dry bags are supplied as well, so you can bring your own picnic, and enjoy lunch on one of the pristine beaches in the area.

Great experience Loved every bit of the tour & our bus driver Paul very was informative & Tanya was also great. We booked a meet & greet cast member & we where very lucky to have Dan Ewing Heath an X river boy. He was awesome so happy to answer questions & he had a great sense of humour.
